Words & Music returns to Indian Valley

Plumas Arts announces the return of Words & Music to Indian Valley. This community event brings together local poets, musicians, songwriters and storytellers for an evening of live performances and creative celebration, report organizers. The event will take place Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at The Spot in Greenville.

The evening’s featured performer is Hank Alrich. Admission is $3, cash only.

Words & Music is a showcase of local talent from across Indian Valley and the wider Plumas County area. The stage will be open to all community members who wish to share their original work — whether it be a song, spoken word or storytelling piece. Plumas Arts says the event offers an inclusive platform for artists to express themselves and connect with the community.

Christopher Rouse Islas Hernandez, the new executive director of Plumas Arts, said he is eager to see the event expand. He hopes to take Words & Music to new locations outside of Quincy on a quarterly basis. “Words & Music has the power to unite our community through the shared experience of art,” said Rouse, expressing his vision of making this event accessible to everyone in the region.

Plumas Arts is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts in Plumas County. Through a variety of cultural events, arts education programs and community outreach, Plumas Arts nurtures the artistic traditions of the region. The Words & Music series is one of the organization’s longest-running events, offering a platform for local artists to share their voices and be celebrated by the community.
