Ballots for the Nov. 5 general election will be mailed Monday, Oct. 7, reports Marcy DeMartile, Plumas County clerk-recorder and registrar of voters.
DeMartile said her office is preparing the voter file to go to the printer. She pointed out it is voters’ responsibility to update any changes in address — either physical residence or mailing address — with the elections office.
Election materials are not forwarded. The ballots will be mailed to the current mailing address on the voter’s registration information. If that information has changed, or a voter has physically moved locations, the voter needs to re-register by filling out a new voter registration card. Alternatively, voters may register online at http://www.registertovote.ca.gov.
DeMartile says folks are welcome to contact the elections office at any time to verify their voter status as well as their political party affiliation. The phone number is 530-283-6256; information is also available in person at the courthouse office at 520 Main St., Room 102, in Quincy.
