Volunteers with the Feather River Chapter of Trout Unlimited report they will scour the banks for trash along the Middle Fork Feather River between Graeagle and Blairsden on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
The chapter invites local residents and visitors to take part in keeping this beautiful river clean and healthy.
Volunteers will meet at the old Blairsden-Graeagle bridge at 8:30. Participants should bring work gloves. Waders or rubber boots are optional. Feather River Trout Unlimited will supply trash bags.
“The Middle Fork is home to an amazing abundance of fish and wildlife,” said Dave Wood, Feather River chapter president. “Doing our part to keep the river clean of trash is just one way to help make sure it remains healthy for all of us to enjoy.”
The Feather River Chapter of Trout Unlimited works to restore rivers, educate youth and engage citizens in volunteer opportunities to improve trout fisheries in waters of the upper Feather River watershed and nearby areas.
Founded in Michigan in 1959, Trout Unlimited today is a national nonprofit organization with more than 300,000 members in over 420 local chapters and councils dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring North America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.
