The Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola announces its annual family-friendly Pumpkin Patch Express will be held the weekends of Oct. 19 and 20 and Oct. 26 and 27.
During all four days the museum will open at 10 a.m. Trains depart between 1 and 5 p.m. The Halloween-decorated train will depart from the diesel shop for the pumpkin patch, where visitors can pick up and purchase pumpkins. Back at the diesel shop, organizers encourage participants to explore the museum, enjoy the decorations and shop for railroad merchandise.

On Saturday nights, organizers announces they will once again run the popular “super spooky night trains.” These depart between 7 and 9 p.m.
Admission is $15 per car or $10 with a donation of three cans of food for the Eastern Plumas Community Assistance Network food bank. Feather River Rail Society members get free admission with their membership card. More information is available at http://pumpkin.wplives.org or 530-832-4131.
