Get ready to twirl, shimmy and sway as the Feather River College Foundation prepares to host the 2024 Dancing With the Stars competition, say organizers. Back from a five-year hiatus, the event will take place Nov. 2 at Serpilio Hall in the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in Quincy. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show running 7 to 9 p.m.
The FRC Foundation promises to bring a night of glamor, excitement and exceptional dance talent right to audience members’ seats. Local celebrities, community leaders and enthusiastic amateurs will don their finest outfits and compete for the title of celebrity dance champion. Each contestant will be paired with a seasoned dancer to showcase a variety of dance styles, from the elegant waltz to the high-energy salsa.
“We are thrilled to bring this spectacular event back,” said Lisa Kelly, fund/friend-raising chair of the FRC Foundation. “Our goal is to increase foundation awareness and raise funds to support FRC students through programs, activities and grants.” According to planning committee entertainment advisor Lindsey Kimzey, “It’s going to be a night filled with fantastic performances and unforgettable moments.”
The competition will feature a panel of judges from the world of entertainment who will evaluate performances based on technique, creativity and overall flair. In addition, the audience will be invited to weigh in by way of a clapping vote.
Along with the dance performances, attendees can look forward to a festive evening complete with a hosted red carpet arrival, a silent giveaway/vote for the winner, an Old Hollywood–themed costume contest, sweet and savory treats and fermented beverages. The event is open to all ages.
Tickets are available for tables of eight, including heavy appetizers and champagne, as well as theatre-style seating. Theatre seats are available online at http://www.foundation/frc and at Quincy Provisions. Table purchases can be made by contacting Nancy Gambell at [email protected].
