Feather River Food Co-op announces that this year’s Community Appreciation Day will be held Tuesday, Oct. 29, at both store locations: 269 Main St. in Quincy and 60 N. Pine St. in Portola. Organizers say Community Appreciation Day is an opportunity for the co-op to show its gratitude for the continued support of shoppers, member-owners and the greater community.
Special discounts for all shoppers will run from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1. An additional discount is available Oct. 29 for members; those who are not yet members can sign up online.
The co-op’s board of directors will also be available at both stores on Tuesday to reach out to community members and gather responses to a survey. They will be giving out free merchandise, cookies and other goodies.
“We are fortunate enough to have the resources to give back to our community through programs such as Round Up at the Register, the Co-op Community Fund and direct donations,” said Ross MacNeil, FRFC outreach coordinator. “Currently, the co-op donates over $20,000 a year to local nonprofits and organizations. Without the consistent support and donations of our shoppers and co-op members, this would not be possible. Community Appreciation Day is an opportunity for us to give back to our shoppers, the folks who make it all happen.”
