There’s a buzz of excitement at Chester Junior-Senior High School over a dramatic development: theater.
Students and staff will perform Nov. 8 in a series of productions that include a teaser of the winter production by the drama club, reports the Lake Almanor Area Chamber. Performances by the music department and Chester’s youth dance program will follow. And there will be a surprise from the CHS staff.
In other CHS news, the school library is set to undergo renovations, thanks to a generous grant. The changes will enhance both the school’s facilities and its literacy materials, the LAAC reports. A school-wide survey inspired a unique hunting lodge theme, which also promises to inspire local youth.
While Halloween has passed, the chamber commended Ryder Christensen, a proactive CHS senior, for his initiative in coordinating youth safety during the Merchant Trick or Treat Oct. 31. The safety coordination is part of his senior project.
