Plumas Crisis Intervention and Resource Center announces the grand opening Nov. 15 of Plumas County’s first-ever navigation center, North Star Navigation Center, located at 601 Main Street in Quincy. A 4 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark this milestone, followed by site tours and refreshments.
The North Star Navigation Center represents a low-barrier shelter model that emphasizes housing first and services, PCIRC officials report. It is aimed at helping individuals and families transition from homelessness into permanent housing. This rural housing solution offers temporary living facilities while case managers work closely with participants, connecting them with vital services such as income assistance, public benefits, health and wellness resources, crisis support, and counseling.
Key programs will include:
- Emergency shelter services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
- Support for the chronically homeless, transitioning offenders and parolees.
- The Housing and Disability Advocacy Program for seniors and/or disabled individuals.
- Services for former foster youth in Plumas and Sierra counties.
This center will act as a beacon of hope for those in need, providing immediate shelter and comprehensive services to empower individuals on their path to stable, permanent housing, PCIRC officials said.
“We are thrilled to invite the entire community to join us for this exciting event,” said representatives from PCIRC. “The North Star Navigation Center reflects our deep commitment to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community and ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to rebuild their lives.”
Ribbon-cutting attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility and partake in hors d’oeuvres while learning more about the services available through the center. More information about PCIRC and the services it offers is available at its , please visit our website or 530-283-5515.
