Seneca Healthcare Foundation received final approval of its charitable tax status. The Internal Revenue Service now recognizes donations to the foundation as tax-deductible contributions.
The Seneca Healthcare District has served the Lake Almanor Basin and surrounding areas for more than 70 years. With its official recognition, donors to the foundation can support efforts to provide high-quality health care.
“The 501(c)(3) status is an IRS tax exemption that enables individuals, family trusts or other organizations a tax-deductible method for charitable contributions in support of our new hospital build and expanding quality health care throughout the Lake Almanor Basin,” said Chief Executive Officer Shawn McKenzie.
Chelssa Outland, executive director at SHF said, “I’m thrilled that we have reached the final stages of establishing the Seneca Healthcare Foundation.”
