Feather River Food Co-op begins board elections Jan. 1

The Feather River Food Co-op Board of Directors wants to recruit member-owners to stand for upcoming board vacancies. The election process runs from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2025. Three of the seven board seats are open. All member-owners active members as of Oct. 1, 2024, are eligible.

The board plans an information session from 4 to 5 p.m., Jan. 27, 2025, prior to its 5 p.m. board meeting. The meetings take place at the co-op administration building, 248 Main St., Quincy.

The Feather River Food Co-op membership votes for board members annually. The board works closely with the general manager to determine the direction of the FRFC.

The board election process is below.

  • Jan. 1 – Feb.26:Interested candidates are identified.
  • Jan. 27, 4 p.m.: Information session for prospective board members.
  • Feb. 26: Deadline to submit candidates’ declarations of interest and photo (see the Board Election Handbook, pages 15-16).
  • Feb. 26: Board review of candidates and biographies.
  • March 1 – 31: Election month.

The Feather River Food Co-op Election Handbook can be found online. Hard copies of the handbook are available at both FRFC stores beginning Jan. 1, 2025. The handbook also provides information about board operations and board directors’ responsibilities.
