Pacific Gas and Electric Co. announces that it is offering more than $250,000 in college scholarships for students in northern and central California. Opportunities are available for both college-bound high school seniors and current college and continuing education students.
The scholarships are funded by PG&E’s employee resource groups and engineering network groups, and funds are raised entirely through coworker donations, coworker fundraising events and the company’s coworker giving program.
To qualify, applicants for all scholarships must:
- Be a high school senior or graduate, have received GED certification or be an undergraduate or postsecondary undergraduate student. Veterans and adults returning to school are encouraged to apply.
- Have a primary residence that is a PG&E customer in California at the time of application.
- Plan to enroll full time in an accredited college or university in the fall.
There are 15 different scholarships available, with additional evaluation criteria corresponding to the employee group underwriting the gift. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. Students are encouraged to apply for as many scholarships as they are eligible for.
The deadline to apply is March 22 2025.
