John David von Almen Jr., born Nov. 1, 1957, a beloved son, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Nov. 17, 2024, at his home in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
He was the devoted husband of the late Kathy von Almen and is survived by his children: daughter Amanda von Almen and her husband, Jeremy Herrman; son Kyle von Almen and his fiancé, Bailee Coon; two cherished granddaughters, and his mother, Marge Dean.
A proud United States Marine Corps veteran with a 30-year career at Pac Bell/AT&T, John was also known for his humor and endless generosity with his friends and loved ones. He loved to tell stories of his bull riding days, was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, and was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan.
John will be incredibly missed by all who knew him. Please join us for a memorial service to honor his memory on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Quincy Veterans Hall at 2 p.m.
