PUSD seeks community input in preparation for new superintendent search

The Plumas Unified School District board of directors will meet on Zoom Jan. 24, from 6 to 7 p.m., for community comment on its search for a new superintendent. The position is scheduled to begin with the 2025-26 school year.

The school board seeks comments from interested parents, community members and other stakeholders during the virtual meeting and through an online survey. In particular, board members want opinions on the following questions:

  • What is good about the community?
  • What is good about the district and the schools?
  • What are the issues that a new superintendent should know about when coming into the position?
  • What are the characteristics, attributes and skills a new superintendent should have to be successful in the position?

Meeting participants will share their opinions directly with the search team via this Zoom link. If Plumas Country residents cannot attend the online meeting, they can complete the survey, available on the PUSD website in English and in Spanish. The survey is open until Jan. 31, at 5 p.m.

The search team will produce a report for the board from the information gathered from the online meeting and survey responses. In addition, the report will be available at the board meeting Feb. 12, and on the PUSD website. For more information or to a request for accommodation, call the PUSD offices at 530-283-6500.
