The nonprofit Sierra Nevada Journeys announces that registration is now open for this year’s Girls in STEM Camp June 7 and 8. The program, designed for girls age 10 to 14, will be held at the organization’s Portola outdoor education camp. Tuition is free for students who qualify for their school’s Free and Reduced Lunch Program; a $20 registration fee applies.
Organizers report that the event includes an action-packed schedule featuring women in STEM, team-building exercises and science activities. To qualify for free tuition, students must be enrolled in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program at their school and live in Northern Nevada or Northern California.
More information, eligibility details and registration is available online.
