The Feather River Community College Foundation announces it is set to host an evening of “pure entertainment” in support of Feather River College and its students. Scheduled for March 21 and 22 at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds, the Quincy Star Follies lip-sync show promises a night of fun, laughter and incredible performances.
Star Follies is a show where local stars from all walks of life take the stage and bring their best lip-syncing performances to a variety of iconic songs, say organizers. The event will feature a diverse lineup of participants — ranging in age from 6 to 86 — including community members, students and faculty and staff from Feather River College, Plumas Unified School District, Plumas Charter School, Plumas Christian School and Indian Valley Academy.
Participants will take on famous hits from a variety of genres, from pop to rock, country to hip-hop, with dazzling costumes, energetic choreography and plenty of humor, say organizers.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Feather River Community College Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting the college and its students. The foundation helps to provide scholarships, grants and resources that enhance the educational experience for students at Feather River College. The funds raised will go directly toward supporting the college’s mission to offer high-quality education and ensure that all students have the tools they need to succeed, say organizers: “By attending and participating in the event, attendees will not only enjoy an entertaining show, but also help to enrich the lives of current and future Feather River College students.”
“The Quincy Star Follies is also a wonderful opportunity for the local community to come together,” said Lisa Kelly, FRC Foundation fundraising chair. “It’s a celebration of local talent, creativity and the spirit of giving. The event will showcase the unique sense of humor and camaraderie that make Quincy a special place.”
