Walter Arthur Parsons, 96, died Feb. 20, 2025. Born May 11, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska, Walt lived most of his life in Sacramento. He served in the U.S. Navy and earned his master’s degree in math at the University of Illinois. He worked for Sacramento City Schools for 30 years as a teacher of math and science and as director of research in the administrative office.
He retired in 1988 and moved to Graeagle, California, where he spent most of his days playing golf, hiking, and entertaining friends and family.
Walt leaves Flora, his devoted wife of 76 years, and three daughters: Leslie Quadres, Debra Hazzard and Alison Brodeur. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jason and Matthew Brodeur, Evan and Ryan Payne, and Tara and Jarrett Hazzard; and great-grandchildren Isaac, Alyssa, Maddison, and Natahlia Brodeur.
