Quincy Firewise reports that its meeting Wednesday, March 26, features Michael Hall as the guest speaker. Hall is the district manager of the Feather River Resource Conservation District. The meeting is set for 5 to 6 p.m. at the West End Theatre in Quincy.
The FRRCD partners with the U.S. Forest Service, the Plumas Underburn Cooperative, Quincy Firewise and more on projects ranging from forest restoration to wildfire mitigation. Recently the conservation district has been working with the Forest Service on the North Quincy Wildfire Resiliency Project.
Organizers encourage everyone in the community to come hear more about the wildfire resiliency project and the resource conservation district. Attendees can visit https://frrcd.org/ to learn more prior to attending the meeting.
Quincy Firewise has also been advising local residents to call dispatch before burning debris piles. Calling 530-283-6300 before burning notifies the Quincy Volunteer Fire Department and avoids nuisance responses, say organizers. Those burning should also call the burn day information line at 530-274-7928 and inform their neighbors.
Those interested can join the Quincy Firewise email list by sending a message to [email protected].
