Seneca Healthcare District announces recent changes to its board of directors, which saw Shelley Stelzner replace Sherrie Thrall as vice president, while Thrall took Stelzner’s previous position as assistant treasurer/secretary. “These changes reflect the board’s ongoing commitment to strong leadership and effective governance, as they lead the organization in its mission to provide exceptional health care services to the community,” said SHD. The board says it is confident that these new appointments will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to the organization.
The SHD board of directors consists of:
- Jerri Nielsen, president. Nielsen brings extensive leadership experience and a deep commitment to community health, says SHD. As president, she guides the board in strategic decision-making and governance. She is also a volunteer on the new hospital build team.
- Shelley Stelzner, vice president: With a background in health care administration, Stelzner supports the president and helps drive initiatives that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Rich Rydell, treasurer: Rydell’s financial, technological and health care expertise are instrumental in overseeing the district’s financial health and ensuring responsible fiscal management, says SHD. He is also a volunteer on the new build team.
- Sherrie Thrall, assistant treasurer/secretary: Thrall assists in financial oversight and administrative duties, contributing her governmental experience and organizational skills.
- Ken Crandall, secretary: Crandall overseas the board’s documentation and communications, ensuring transparency and effective information flow.
The Seneca Healthcare District board is subject to the Brown Act.
This board has been instrumental in guiding the district through its efforts to build a new hospital, says SHD. One of its recent achievements includes the approval of the official name for the new hospital, Lake Almanor Community Hospital, which aligns with the district’s strategic goals and better connects the communities served throughout the Lake Almanor Basin.
SHD says it remains committed to providing exceptional health care services and improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves. The board members say they look forward to working together to achieve these goals.
SHD board meetings take place at 3 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted. The meetings are held in the conference room at the Lake Almanor Clinic on 199 Reynolds Road in Chester. All meetings are open to the public, and SHD encourages the public to attend. An option to attend virtually is available on SHD’s website at http://www.senecahospital.org/agenda.
