‘Hands off!’ rally set for April 5 in Quincy

Organizations that include Indian Valley Indivisibles and Plumas-Sierra Democrats report they are planning a “Hands Off” rally for April 5 in Quincy. Other participating organizations include Plefties, Quincy Area Indivisibles and the Sierra County Democratic Central Committee. The rally is one of many similar events scheduled to take place around the globe April 5.

The Plumas County event is set for 1 p.m. at the Plumas County courthouse in Quincy. It s designed to allow people to express their discontent with various parts of the Trump/Musk agenda, said Darrah Hopper, a member of Indian Valley Indivisibles. They hope it will be the largest rally in the county’s history, she said.

“Americans are fed up with the Musk-Trump power grab and want an end to the lawless raiding of our government,” said Hopper. “‘Hands off!’ is a simple rallying cry against an administration that’s dangerously overreaching and throwing our democracy, our economy and — for many — our private lives into chaos.”

Participants are encouraged to bring signs. Materials to make signs will also be available a few minutes before the rally. Ideas for signs include:
