Quincy low-cost health screenings set for May

Plumas District Hospital in Quincy announces it will once again offer its annual low-cost health screenings during the first two full weeks of May. Potential participants are encouraged to take note of four primary points:

  • Appointments are necessary. Appointment scheduling opens Monday, April 28. Call 530-283-2121, and press the star key to schedule.
  • Lab draws will take place in the Rural Health Clinic North Fork building.
  • Appointments will be available in the mornings, Monday – Thursday, 6:30 – 8 a.m., beginning Monday, May 5, and running until Thursday, May 15.
  • Walk-ins will not be accepted.

As in past years, the health care package is payable by cash or check on the day of the event. Pricing information is available at https://www.pdh.org/announcements/may-health-fair-reduced-lab-draws. Insurance will not be billed.

Testing includes:

  • Complete blood count
  • Comprehensive metabolic panel
  • Thyroid stimulating hormone
  • Lipid panel

For an additional charge, screenings for vitamin D, hemoglobin A1C and prostate specific antigen will be available.

Participants will be able to access results through their patient portal at https://www.pdh.org/patients/healthelife. Participants who do not have a PDH patient portal account will be issued an invitation on the day of their appointment.

Participants must not eat for 12 hours prior to the blood draw, but they should continue normal intake of water and take any medication as usual.
