Mill Creek Resort announces it is inviting the community to a Plant and Rewild event Saturday, April 19, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held on the resort property at 40271 Highway 172 in Mineral, just west of Plumas County near the junction of highways 32 and 36.
“Last year’s fires led to the removal of numerous small trees around our property from fire crews, which played a vital role in protecting us,” say organizers. “While necessary, the loss of these trees has impacted the natural beauty of our campground area. We would love your help in replanting and restoring what was lost while continuing to follow fire-safe practices.”
Owners invite the community to join them in planting new trees and cleaning up the property. Everyone is asked to bring a rake, shovel and gloves. All ages are welcome and encouraged.
A potluck follows. Organizers will provide hot dogs for the grill, and they invite everyone to bring a dish to share. RSVPs are requested.
