Park district prepares for this year’s pool season

The Central Plumas Recreation and Parks District announces it is gearing up for the return of pool season. The Pioneer Community Pool in Quincy will be open from June 16 through Aug. 15 this year.

Season passes for individuals, families and seniors can only be purchased from the park office at 34 Fairgrounds Rd.

The pool will be open for public swim Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. and for family swim from 5 to 7 p.m. beginning June 16. The Pioneer Community Pool also hosts the Plumas Rapids swim team, provides scheduled lap swim for adult community members, and offers youth swim lessons for a variety of skill levels.

Private one-on-one swim lessons are currently being scheduled for the weeks of June 23, July 21 and Aug. 11. Group lessons will take place from July 8 to 18 and from July 28 to Aug. 7. Spaces for instruction are limited for all sessions so patrons are encouraged to reserve their spot now by visiting the CPRPD office at Pioneer Park.

Along with its regular summer aquatics programs, CPRPD offers private pool parties. The pool facilities can be rented out on Saturdays for closed party reservations and special events like family reunions, birthdays and more. The pool rental can be combined with a reservation of the park facilities for large gatherings.

More information about CPRPD aquatics programming and pool reservation is available from the district at 530-283-3278 or
