Race fellowship, Public Health serve community supper

Next free community meal set for April 23

Two local community groups recently served the free Quincy Community Supper: Race served the March 26 meal and Plumas County Public Health Agency served the April 9 meal.

Race is a Christian fellowship at Feather River College, led by Dr. Ross Morgan. Members of the group served 124 meals of lasagna, Caesar salad and garlic bread.

Race members are intent on serving their free meal to the Quincy community.

The Plumas County Public Health Agency reports that staff from its Senior Service, with the assistance of other public health staff, prepared a meal which consisted of pot roast, mashed potatoes, pasta primavera, steamed vegetables and salad. Public health served approximately 140 meals.

The Quincy Community Supper offers a meal with no charge the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Community United Methodist Church at 282 Jackson St. Serving the community since 2002, the supper is hosted by a rotating list of businesses, churches, service organizations, schools and offices.
