Feather River College Athletics announces that the Feather River College baseball team went on the road April 19 to secure the 2025 Golden Valley Conference championship with a 12-8 win over Lassen Community College.
In doing so, the Golden Eagles clinched their second straight conference title and 15th overall under head coach Terry Baumgartner. FRC improved to 18-5 in conference play with the victory, placing the team three games ahead of Butte College with just two games left to play.
Feather River will wrap up the regular season April 24 and 25 against Shasta College. Thursday’s game starts at 3 p.m. and Friday’s first pitch is at noon.
On April 19, the Golden Eagles rapped out 15 hits and crossed the plate 12 times on a busy offensive day. FRC scored in four straight innings from the third to the sixth, putting up a five-spot on the Cougars in the third.
Shane Danley was FRC’s offensive star with a pair of two-run doubles, one in the third and another in the eighth. Dylan Marx had three hits and scored three times, while Zane Denton, Kolt Kurzman and Rocco Crow had two base knocks each.
Baumgartner sent five different pitchers to the mound, with Jayden Andrade pitching 2.2 hitless relief innings to gain the win.
The Feather River players have now won eight of their last 10 games heading into the Shasta games next week.
