The Chester Cemetery District announces two upcoming events: a cleanup day at the Prattville Cemetery and a district open house. Questions about either event can be directed to Wes at 530-258-6399.
Prattville Cemetery cleanup
The district reports that a community cleanup of the Prattville Cemetery is scheduled for May 17 at 10 a.m. “Bring your gloves and a rake and let’s have some fun,” say organizers.

The Prattville Cemetery is associated with the history of the area, including the settlement of James Lee in 1861 near where the original town of Prattville was located before the creation of Lake Almanor.
Chester Cemetery open house
The district will be holding an open house at the Chester Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The community is welcome to attend and see what district staff and directors have accomplished over the last three years since the Dixie Fire.
Lunch will be provided.
