New local artisan offers handmade silver jewelry

Halo Salon in Quincy announces it is welcoming the summer season by showcasing the work of local artisan Melissa Gregg, who makes sterling silver jewelry.

Gregg embarked on her journey into the world of sterling silver jewelry making in July 2024. She said her passion for the craft ignited when she heard about a coworker’s experiences and saw the resulting beautiful creations. Inspired by this, Gregg decided to take a class and this marked the beginning of her artistic endeavor.

Melissa Gregg creates sterling silver jewelry in her Meadow Valley workshop.

Gregg creates necklaces, rings, earrings, hair pins, cuff bracelets, ear cuffs and custom designs in her workshop in Meadow Valley. Her work is also available at The Hub and the Plumas Arts Gallery in Quincy.

Gregg said she soon discovered a love for creating custom designs. She invites customers to reach out to her with their ideas, as she is enthusiastic about bringing their visions to life. Pieces can include beads and stones, with custom silver soldering.
