Almanor Foundation welcomes new executive director

The Almanor Foundation announces it has welcomed Janelle Orr as its new executive director. Orr brings 20 years of  nonprofit experience and a passion for community service, says TAF.

Orr was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and became a permanent resident of the Lake Almanor Basin in 2021. She lives at Lake Almanor Country Club with her husband Stan.

A graduate of the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, Orr began a 15-year career in public relations at Hewlett-Packard. From there, she opened a public relations and marketing agency and then moved onto successful stints at Apple and, later, Intel. Orr worked at Sutter Health in the Sacramento region for over 10 years and then most recently for the Foundation for California Community Colleges.

After moving to Lake Almanor, Orr ran for the LACC board of directors; she is completing her three-year term there. While on the board, Orr was involved in a number of community activities. She said this increased her awareness of local nonprofit programs and how best to support the residents of Plumas County.
