The Feather River Land Trust announces a free hiking and journaling experience with longtime outdoor writer Tim Hauserman Sunday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center.
Organizers say participants will set out on a short hike to the edge of the Feather River, then enjoy a reading from Hauserman’s book “Going It Alone: Ramblings and Reflections from the Trail,” followed by a chance to use journaling to better understand nature and themselves.
Finally, they will return for a book signing and question-and-answer session with Hauserman. Participants are welcome to complete their day by exploring the nature center.
Space is limited. The event is open to children ages 10 and up with a parent/guardian. Those interested can RSVP online.
Tim Hauserman is a freelance writer and nearly lifelong resident of Lake Tahoe. He has written hundreds of articles for over a dozen publications on travel, recreation, free-range parenting, the lure of danger and overtourism. Hauserman believes a balance between writing and being outdoors is essential. More information is available on his website.
