Dr. Vincent Natali, a beloved father, dedicated physician and humble community member, passed away peacefully at home April 21, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 84.
Born July 22, 1940 in upstate New York, Vince was one of five children raised by Italian-American parents. His early years were shaped by a tight-knit family, a deep connection to the outdoors and a strong sense of self-reliance. His childhood was filled with lively days spent alongside his siblings, a series of enterprising jobs—from grocery store clerk to newspaper delivery boy to ice cream truck driver—and summers working with his father on the railroad.
After earning his medical degree, Vince began a lifelong commitment to community care. He practiced medicine for more than four decades, serving rural and underserved areas. He worked in hospitals, clinics and emergency rooms from New Mexico to Ventura before settling in Chester, where he became known not only as a skilled doctor but as a trusted neighbor and friend. His patients remember his calm presence and his listening ear.
In southern California, Vince met Gini, a lab tech and community organizer. Together they built a life rooted in shared values as they raised their two daughters. Gini later went on to organize the building of Wildwood Village, a senior housing facility in Chester. Vince supported her efforts quietly and wholeheartedly.
Vince was a thoughtful man with a quiet intellect and love for the outdoors. He valued simplicity and solitude. He had an awe for the mysteries of the universe and a quiet spiritual depth that shaped how he moved through the world.
He is survived by his daughters, Ann and Barb, his extended family, and the many people whose lives he touched through his medical care, his generosity and his quietly principled way of being.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., July 12, at the United Methodist Church, 386 Main Street, Chester. Refreshments will follow. Please contact Ann ([email protected]) or Barb ([email protected]) with any questions. They would also love to hear stories about Vince from the community. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wildwood Village or Seneca Hospital in Chester.
