33rd High Sierra Music Festival to go forward

Dave Margulies, producer of the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, today confirmed that the event will go forward as planned in spite of low ticket sales. The festival is scheduled to take place July 3 through 6 at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds. Margulies provided the following written statement:

“With deep reflection and attention to the realities we face and the complexities involved, High Sierra has made the decision to move forward with the festival this year! We all have a lot at stake and while we still have a lot of ground to cover we believe we can get there together. Our incredibly talented and dedicated team is working with renewed energy to make sure we deliver the kind of unforgettable experience that has defined High Sierra for over 30 years. We can’t wait to gather once again in Quincy over July 4th weekend!”

Organizers hope that sales may accelerate in the final weeks leading up to the festival. Local attendees can take advantage of the festival’s work trade program or purchase discounted $50 day passes at The Quincy Hub through June 28.
