The Quincy Firewise group announces that its next meeting is set for Wednesday, June 25, at 5 p.m. in the West End Theatre.
Mike Flanigan and Richard Stockton will be the presenters. They will discuss their involvement with Plumas County Fire Safe Council and the Quincy Firewise Community movement. They will also provide up-to-date information on home/property insurance and the current state of the insurance market, evacuation preparedness, home hardening tips, and home ignition zone design.
The fire safe council oversees Firewise communities, say organizers, which is a solution for small towns and residential associations who wish to prioritize the reduction of hazardous fuel and to make their communities safer from wildfire. The council’s mission is to support these efforts and promote fire resiliency among the residents of Plumas County.
Flanigan and Stockton encourage everyone interested to attend the meeting and bring all their questions. They ask their regular attendees to invite a friend or neighbor, and they welcome all fellow Firesafe community members from throughout the county to attend as well.
