The Plumas-Sierra County Fair announces that Wold Amusements is back as the event’s loyal carnival provider. Jason Wold has been providing the local fair with exciting and safe rides for over two decades, said fair manager John Steffanic: “We are grateful for his loyalty to our small fair, especially as other small county fairs throughout the west are going without a carnival.”
Carnival prices are the same this year as the previous two years.
As has been the tradition, discounted presale carnival tickets are available at locations throughout Plumas and Sierra counties: all Plumas Bank Branches, Sierra Valley Home Center, Sierra Valley Feed, Safeway and the fair office in Quincy.
Two kinds of tickets are available: the golden ticket and the daily unlimited ride ticket. The golden ticket costs $100 and can be exchanged for a wristband that allows unlimited rides every day of the fair. The daily unlimited ride ticket costs $30. That ticket can be exchanged at the carnival’s ticket center for a wristband that allows unlimited rides for a single day of the fairgoer’s choice. Steffanic promises that helpful attendants will be standing by to assist with the exchange.
Steffanic said the fair website is a helpful source of information. It includes the minimum height requirements for many carnival rides. Even though the rides listed are not necessarily the rides that will be at the Plumas-Sierra County Fair, it’s a good way to get an idea of what kind of rides a youngster will be able to enjoy, said Steffanic. This year’s county fair runs Thursday, July 24, through Sunday, July 27.
