Quincy DMV one of several offices to reduce hours

The Office of Sen. Megan Dahle announces that the California Department of Motor Vehicles has adjusted its operating schedule at nine field offices due to reduced in-person visits. Beginning July 1‚ select locations — including offices in Red Bluff‚ Alturas, Quincy and Grass Valley — are now open to the public only two to three days per week.

This change is based on transaction data‚ staffing levels and wait times. DMV expects services to remain accessible and overall wait times to stay consistent. Staff at these offices will continue to process transactions that begin online or through virtual appointments‚ even on nonpublic days.

The Quincy DMV office is now open Tuesday and Thursday.

All other DMV offices not affected by these closures remain on a standard schedule: open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday‚ Thursday and Friday‚ and opening at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays. Most DMV tasks can be completed online, said Dahle’s office. Those wishing to check availability or start a transaction can visit dmv.ca.gov/online.

“While the Department of Motor Vehicles expects this to be a smooth transition‚ my office is always here to assist you if you run into challenges with state agencies like the DMV,” said Dahle. Her website is https://sr01.senate.ca.gov/.
