Sierra Christian Church announces it is hosting Family Movie Night on Friday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. The featured film is “The Pilgrim’s Progress.”
Based on the epic masterpiece, The Pilgrim’s Progress is one of the most popular books of all time, and one of the most important stories of faith. Second to the Bible in total copies and translations, the story was written by John Bunyan a pastor, imprisoned for sharing his faith.

This powerful allegory helps families understand that the spiritual journey is the most important journey in life. It also emphasizes the importance of sticking to the path, even when the journey gets difficult.
The movie is rated PG. Parents should take a look at the trailer to have a good understanding of what’s in the movie. In its review, Focus on the Family gives it a yellow light/medium caution for children because of several scary scenes that the main character, Christian, encounters on his journey. The creators of the movie recommend 8 years of age and older.
Sierra Christian Church is located at 81059 Highway 70 in Beckwourth. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. for participants to share finger foods and fellowship before the movie starts at 6:30 p.m.
