The Greenville Southern Baptist Church announces that it will host a summer kids’ event called True North from Aug. 4 to 8. At True North, kids in kindergarten through sixth grade discover what it means to trust Jesus in a wild world, say organizers.
During this vacation Bible school program, kids participate in Bible-learning activities, sing songs, play teamwork-building games, make and eat treats, experience Bible adventures, collect Bible memory buddies to remind them of Jesus’ love, and test out science experiments, said organizers. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through “God sightings.”
The daily program runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and each day concludes with a compass closing that aims to get everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily for the closing at 11:35 a.m.
Kids at True North will also join a mission’s effort to provide families in North America with new warm clothes and blankets.
