UPDATE: The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office reports that as of Aug. 11, Bradley “Jay” Prestigiacomo remains missing. Over the past several days, PCSO has continued an extensive search effort with the assistance of the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services Search and Rescue, Nevada County Search and Rescue, Lassen County Search and Rescue and Marin County Search and Rescue. These teams, along with local resources, utilized search dogs, drones and ground crews to cover challenging terrain. The search will now continue with local resources. “We remain committed to locating Bradley and appreciate the dedication and support of our partner agencies, volunteers and community members during this ongoing search,” said Chandler Peay, PCSO deputy sheriff and public information officer.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office received a report Aug. 4 of a voluntary missing adult, Bradley “Jay” Prestigiacomo, also known as Bradley Pierson. Prestigiacomo, 41, was last seen leaving a residence in Quincy around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 3.
U.S. Forest Service employees located Prestigiacomo’s vehicle Aug. 5 on a remote forest road between Claremont Peak and Thompson Creek, south of Quincy. Deputies and sheriff’s investigators responded to the area, along with additional Forest Service personnel. An initial ground search was conducted, and a drone was deployed to scan the area, but Prestigiacomo was not located.
Plumas County Search and Rescue was activated and conducted an initial search. Search and rescue personnel returned to the area Aug. 7 and requested mutual aid from specialized search dog teams to assist in the ongoing effort.
The sheriff’s office said the search for Prestigiacomo remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information regarding Prestigiacomo’s whereabouts or who may have seen anything in the area is encouraged to contact the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office at 530-283-6300.
