Pacific Gas and Electric Co. reports that its meteorology department is forecasting a heat wave approaching the local service area starting today and lasting into the early weekend.
Parts of the North Valley and Sierra Region will likely see higher-than-average temperatures lasting several days. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for much of inland California while an extreme heat warning is in effect Thursday over portions of Central California and further south.

PG&E encourages customers to have a plan for the heat. The utility suggests customers use the tips in the above image to stay cool and reduce energy use.
