Feather River College invites the community to participate in the annual College & Career Fair Tuesday, Sept. 16. This year, the event will be held in a new outdoor location at The Green just above the FRC gymnasium.
Each career representative will be provided with one 6-foot table, with additional tables available upon request. The fair will take place outdoors, weather permitting, so participants should plan accordingly, say organizers.
“We expect more than 300 students to attend, making this a great opportunity to engage in conversations about your industry,” said Gabe Miller, FRC’s director of employer partnerships. “You are welcome to bring partners or coworkers; simply note the number of attendees on your registration form.”
Lunch will be provided by Grandma Jane’s Bakery, free to all career representatives that register.
The day’s schedule is as follows:
- 9:15 a.m.: student arrival and welcome
- 9:30 a.m.: campus tour
- 10 a.m. career technical education panel
- 10:30 a.m. – noon: outdoor College & Career Fair, setup begins 9:45 a.m.
- Noon: lunch
Career representatives are encouraged to bring items, visuals or hands-on materials that highlight their industry, career paths or current job and internship opportunities. Organizers say photos of employees, especially students or alumni, are encouraged to help students see themselves in the field.
Representatives who would like to bring larger equipment or a vehicle are invited to reach out to coordinate logistics. Because the event is outdoors, organizers suggest bringing layers, securing canopies and displays for breezy conditions and wearing footwear suited for the grassy field. Organizers request that representatives indicate in their registration how many tables, chairs and staff members they plan to bring.
The campus location is 570 Golden Eagle Ave. in Quincy. Registration is available online. More information is available on the FRC college and career website.
