The Northern California Small Business Development Centers Tech Futures Group reports that a five-part webinar series focusing on investment readiness is set to run Sept. 3 through Oct. 1.
“A good idea and a smart team usually aren’t enough to raise money in today’s investment climate,” said organizers. “Ninety-nine percent of startups never succeed in raising venture funding.”
The Tech Futures Group presents this five-part series on preparing to raise venture capital, covering the essential elements to complete before a business starts raising that will set the owner and the company apart from the pack. Organizers say the sessions cover critical aspects of customer validation, product development and the path to minimum viable product, go-to-market strategy and execution, and wrapping it all together into a compelling pitch deck.
The series is appropriate for any company looking for pre-seed, seed or Series A funding. Examples and expert commentators come from business-to-business software as a service, but presenters say the information can be generalized to any industry.
Sessions will be held Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m.:
- Sept. 3: “Customer Discovery and Validation”
- Sept. 10: “Development and Product Market Fit”
- Sept. 17: “Navigating Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer Research and Development Grants”
- Sept. 24: “Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution”
- Oct. 1: “Pitch Readiness”
Online registration is available.
