Clarence Dee Barbea

Clarence Dee Barbea was born Nov. 11, 1936, in Oroville, California and passed away Sept. 1, 2025, in Quincy, California.

Dee lived a life rich with service, adventure and heart. After dedication to public services, the California Highway Patrol and the National Guard, he retired and transitioned to a career in commercial trucking, exploring the open road and meeting new people. A man of exceptional character, Dee was selfless, strong and full of life. He always put his family and friends first. He remained remarkably positive, uplifting others with his sharp wit and incredible sense of humor.

Dee was a widower, having shared a loving marriage that remained close to his heart. He is survived by his daughter, Katy Barbea, and his partner and best friend, JoAnn Downey. 

Dee lived a full life rich with wisdom, stories, adventure, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

A funeral will be held at the Cromberg Cemetery, Oct. 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. with a celebration of life following at the Quincy Veterans Hall from 4 to 6 p.m.
