The California Community College Athletic Association reports that the first California Community College Sports Information Association men’s soccer poll places Feather River College’s Golden Eagles in a solid No. 1 position statewide.
And as teams began their fourth full week of action in the middle of the month, with no undefeated or untied teams in the field, the members of CCCSIA voted for the first time this season, giving a final vote that saw 39 teams receive at least one vote.
At 5-1-0, FRC was at the top of the pack, having received eight of the 17 first-place votes and earning 295 points.
After Feather River, however, things get tighter. DeAnza, with one first-place vote, was second in the poll, 13 points ahead of two teams tied at No. 3: LA Mission and El Camino, with one first-place vote.
Santa Monica, unbeaten after seven games at 3-0-4, landed at No. 5 with 210 points, and Cuyamaca — which received five first-place votes — was No. 6 with 197 points.
Fresno City came in at No. 7 with 174 points, while Santa Rosa (158), Consumnes River (152) and Pasadena City (147) were tightly grouped in spots eight through 10, respectively.
Ohlone, which received the final two first-place votes, ended up out of the top 20 with 49 points. The full Top 20 list is available online.
