Calpine Lady Elks support women’s health services

Calpine Elks Lodge No. 2432 announces that the Calpine Lady Elks have presented Peak Women’s Care with a donation of $2,500.

Located in Portola, Peak Women’s Care provides free services to families in need. Executive Director Mollie Nordin shared that the local pregnancy center serves women, men and families with compassionate support and practical resources. The center provides free pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, advocacy and education courses, along with material assistance to help women feel confident and equipped in their choices.

“We are using the Lady Elks’ generous donation to continue to offer free services,” said Nordin. “Everything we do is donor funded as we do not accept money from the government. This donation directly supports life-changing services we provide to equip women, men and families with hope and confidence.” More information is available at www.peakwomens.org.

Organizers say the Calpine Lady Elks collect donations during fundraisers hosted at the lodge’s very popular events. Those seeking information on how to help or join the Elks or Lady Elks are invited to call the lodge at 530-832-5786 and leave their contact information.

The next fundraiser, set for Oct. 6, will be a Taco Tuesday Night raising funds for the Portola Pop Warner cheer teams. Additional events are posted in the Calpine Elks Facebook group.
