Registration opens for Quincy recreation center

The Central Plumas Recreation and Parks District announces it has opened registration for the recreation center, created for the youth of the local community and located within Serpilio Hall at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds.

This annual program, which reopens its doors Nov. 4 and continues through April 2026, provides supervised recreation every weekday from 2:30 to 5 p.m. for children ages 8 to 16. Children ages 6 to 8 may also participate when accompanied by an adult family member.

Indoor soccer, basketball, video gaming, virtual reality, table sports and board games are among the many activities available for participants, say organizers. Daily admission of $5 will be accepted at the entrance and monthly or seasonal passes are available online at www.cprpd.com. Families of five or more are encouraged to visit the recreation district office at Pioneer Park in Quincy to take advantage of family rates.

In addition to the array of youth programs, CPRPD has opened registration for several adult programs that are also offered through Serpilio Hall. Adults can participate in indoor soccer, pickleball, open gym basketball followed by adult basketball league, and the new Pickleball Club: an exclusive once-a-month pickleball event. Details for all CPRPD programming is available on the district website.

Volunteer opportunities are also available; those interested can contact the district office at 530-283-3278.
