School district holds community listening meetings

Plumas Unified School District announces a schedule of upcoming community priorities listening meetings. Andrea White, Plumas County Office of Education superintendent, will be joined by Rich DuVarney, PUSD county-appointed administrator, in visiting each community for a town hall–style meeting for community members to share their values and perspectives as they prepare to address the district budget shortfall.

White and DuVarney thank everyone who participated in their recent community and staff priorities surveys. “We appreciate your thoughtful responses,” they said. They invite community participation in the upcoming meetings, which are open to all families and community members and provide an opportunity to share thoughts, ideas and priorities directly with district leadership.

“We value your voice and hope you’ll join us to help shape the future of our schools,” said White and DuVarney. “Together, we can make thoughtful, community-driven decisions that prioritize the needs of our students.”

Listening meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • Chester community: Nov. 10, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Chester Elementary School
  • Greenville community: Nov. 12, 6 – 7 p.m., Greenville Elementary School cafeteria
  • Quincy community: Nov. 17, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Quincy Junior-Senior High School cafeteria
  • Portola community: Nov. 19, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Portola Junior-Senior High School library
