The Community Foundation of the North State announces a scholarship for high school seniors and college students majoring in agricultural studies. There is no geographic restriction, organizers said.
The Andy Peek Livestock Endowed Scholarship Fund scholarship is offered annually by the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale and provides awards to students whose intended major is agricultural studies.
The scholarship was established in honor and memory of Andy Peek, president of Western Video Market and general manager of Shasta Livestock Auction Yard in Cottonwood, a family-owned business where he worked for over four decades.
To continue his support of youth programs, this scholarship is offered to students majoring in agricultural studies with an emphasis in the livestock industry who share Peek’s desire to work in the industry he dearly loved, say organizers.
Full details and application instructions are available on the foundation website. The submission deadline is Nov. 17.
