The League of Women Voters of Plumas County announces it is conducting its annual essay contest. This year’s theme asks, “What is the real age of adulthood?”
There are many different rules and laws that define adulthood. The league urges all high school students to submit an essay describing their view of what adulthood means, or should mean.
Named in honor of the late Nancy Lund, an original member of the local league, the contest is open to students in ninth through 12th grade attending public, charter or private schools, as well as students being homeschooled.
All essays must be submitted by email to [email protected] and must include a cover page with the student’s name, home mailing address and telephone number, as well as school name, grade level and teacher’s name. The deadline for submitting essays is Nov. 14.
Details about the essay format and more information is available from the Plumas League of Women Voters at [email protected].
