Dramaworks announces that this Christmas season, the West End Theatre is presenting “Miracle on 34th Street: The
Musical” — the beloved holiday story brought to life with song, laughter and heart.
Director Danielle Wagner Plocki shares, “If you love the movie, you will absolutely adore this musical adaptation featuring all the same characters from the 1947 classic.” Audiences can join Fred, Doris, Susan and Kris Kringle as they embark on a journey filled with love, hope and the joy of believing in dreams. A cast of 30 actors of all ages is participating in the production.
The score by Meredith Willson — the legendary composer of “The Music Man” — includes beloved tunes like “Pinecones and Hollyberries,” “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” “Here’s Love” and “That Man Over There is Santa Claus.”
“Meredith Willson’s music is wonderfully entertaining — filled with Americana flair, rhythmic dialogue and melodies that are as catchy as they are joyful,” said Plocki.
“‘Miracle on 34th Street’ captures the nostalgia, wonder and pure joy of the holiday season,” say organizers. “It’s a heartwarming story for audiences of all ages — perfect for families, friends and anyone who believes (or wants to believe) in the spirit of Christmas.”
The production runs Dec. 4, 6, 11, 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 7, 13 and 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at http://www.westendtheatre.us.
