Quincy Community Supper reports that the E Clampus Vitus fraternal group hosted the community supper Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Quincy Methodist Church. Volunteers served 143 meals of pulled pork and rolls, chili beans and coleslaw. Homemade molasses cookies by Nora Barnum were the dessert.
The Quincy Community Supper offers a meal with no charge two Wednesdays of each month at 6 p.m. at the Methodist church, 282 Jackson St. The supper is hosted by a rotating list of businesses, churches, service organizations, schools and offices. The group recently celebrated 23 years of serving these free meals.
The next supper will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. Limited takeout is available at 6:30. Organizers invite everyone for food and fellowship.
Normally the supper is held every second and fourth Wednesday. However, organizers report a one-time change for December: the second supper of the month will be held on the fifth Wednesday, Dec. 31, rather than the fourth Wednesday.
Questions regarding the supper, donations or signing up to volunteer may be directed to Angela Elliott at 530-283-1478.
