The Calpine Elks Lodge No. 2432 announces two upcoming veterans appreciation dinners and mini stand down events. They are set for Jan. 20 and Feb. 24. The first event in the series took place Dec. 16, 2025.
These events, designed to honor and show gratitude to the nation’s veterans, are open to all veterans and their spouses/caregivers, free of charge. The Calpine Elks Lodge, located at 71292 Highway 70 in Portola, will host these events, welcoming veterans and their loved ones to join.
The dinner will run between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. The lodge will prepare a hot dinner and beverage, which is free for veterans and costs $10 for nonveterans in the same party.
The evening includes a guest speaker at 5 p.m. from the Plumas County Veterans Service Office. Giveaways include information handouts, backpacks, socks and more.
