Brewing Lair fundraiser supports youth bike team

The Lost Sierra Composite Mountain Bike Team announces an upcoming fundraiser at the Brewing Lair on May 19 from 2 to 6 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from beer and food sales during that time will be donated back to the team. The event is open to the public and there will be giveaway prizes drawn throughout the day.

The Brewing Lair is located at 67007 Highway 70 in Blairsden. For more information, visit https://www.thebrewinglair.com/.

Lost Sierra Composite is a cross-country mountain bike team made up of Plumas County youth in grades six through 12 and local coaches. Organizers say coaches and riders have a ton of fun out on the local trails building skills, fitness and confidence while making friends and exploring their backyard. Riders have the opportunity to race in USA Cycling events or just ride on the team to have fun and challenge themselves individually.

The nonprofit team’s mission is to build strong minds, body, character and community through cycling. Through the development of a youth mountain biking culture in Plumas County, Lost Sierra Composite aims to inspire kids to be actively engaged in their community, develop lifelong physical literacy and become stewards of their local trails and environment.
